Me & My Gang

We went for a walk with some friends last week, took a ton of pictures, but these are a few of my favorites.

I love that she's running to ME!  I rock!

Ronalee (the sexy brunette) is Neena's vet...she ran to her...and then threw on the brakes at the last second.

This is Pequeno...that's Spanish for little. Ha ha.

Neena's usually pretty gentle with Mack...
she tried to tell me he tripped.

Luv luv luv Gwen's ears!

Neena was REALLY excited about playing fetch...
We spend the first 5 minutes at agility class jumping like this...its really cute until she catches a lip...
Michelle got her back by almost killing her with the 'stick'.

These aren't the 'best pictures ever'...but they are almost the funniest pictures ever...
She actually took a lens to the face on this series...

Ever see a Great Dane X Mastiff with the zoomies being chased by a crazy border collie?
You should really put it on your bucket list...

We think Mack looks like little bear in this picture.

I'm not sure you could call this a 'romantic walk' in the park...
but I'm not sure these two yahoo's could of had any more fun!

A gift from Mack

Turquentine is supposedly the stone of success, ambition & action.  It can also be used in any situation which requires patience & stillness.  I think that Mack was trying to tell my something about 'patience'...although I think he could learn something about 'stillness'.
Just kidding...he's a super cute, photo's from the weekend to come!

And Neena's boyfriend are on their way...this was my 'good morning' e-mail...
This could be fun...or it could be trouble...

Afternoon Nap

I was actually prettty impressed that I managed to tire out two border collies last weekend lol!  And although they did play...I really did keep them busy!  By Sunday afternoon they both wanted naps, Dakota put herself 'down for a nap' like this...
So cute!  So funny!
She went to her new home on Tuesday, the flight was a little overwhelming for her and it was a bit of a rough start.  Poor girl.  But she now has a little brother to play with, and a fantastic home that will give her lots of love and physical/mental stimulation...she's going to play agility!  I have a special place in my heart for this little gal, and I'm happy she is settling into her furever home.

A Party at Popson

Last weekend I took Neena & Dakota to meet a friend and her two Aussie's, Massey (Yep, as in Massey Feruson - I love that!  But John Deere is still best lol!) and Esmae, at Pavan Park.  Unbelievably, we had never been to Pavan before, it was beautiful...I will definately go back!

We started with a relaxing stroll to the river.

Guess drinking the river water makes you a little 'crazay'...
(who am I kidding, neither of us need to drink river water for that lol).
Massey & Esmae thought the border collie's were nutz...
The 'fun police' were on their way to put an end to the silliness...
But Dakota thwarted their plans.
So they decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

A lil Neena & Dakota

Since the Training Troop trial I've been trying to expose Neena to as many different places/situations as I can.  We walk beside busy streets, through parking lots, by the gun range, having another dog around sure helps!  This weekend I also had Dakota, a PDCR rescue that will be going to her furever home on Tuesday!  She is super sweet and VERY smart, she is going to be a fantastic agility dog!
Dakota has also come a long way in a very short period of time, she had a very hard time meeting new people when I first met her.

Heart Shaped

My cakes come heart shaped...
(they are the only cake pans I have...shhh)

We hosted a little party last night to celebrate my roomie's birthday, she loves carrot cake so I started searching for the best ever Carrot Cake Recipe.  This one turned out pretty good!
I love cake. I blame my co-worker Chelsey. We are...correction...she IS and I'm becoming a cake maniac...I've spent quite a bit of time debating the best type of cake at coffee break this winter.  I have this urge to figure out what my absolute favorite cake might be, I don't like light and fluffy cakes (Angel Food Cake...ick), and I have to admit I am enjoying a good piece of carrot cake more and more!  But what about Chocolate Cake!  And who can resist Cheesecake!  And Dad used to call me a Fruitcake...so I sorta have sentimental ties to those.  See my dilemma?
But really, I suspect my favorite part about cake is the icing...and homemade is almost ALWAYS best.  Especially when you get to lick the beaters.  YUM!

Friends, Music & Time

I was once told there is nothing good friends, good music, and time couldn't fix.I'm still not sure that all things can be fixed...at least not the way I want them to be fixed.  But when things start spinning out of control, or on the days when I just don't know how to keep moving forward, I remember these words and somehow they give me strength.

I am fortunate to have some very good friends and family...and I've felt you even more since the Crazy J survival blog...it was not my intent when I wrote it, but I really do appreciate it all the same.

Time...well...none of us really have a choice about that one, Time Marches On (its a country song...go figure).  Having the patience to let time 'fix' what went wrong...well that's the hard part.  Its something I've been pondering quite a bit since Sarah's 'Learning Experience' post, healing takes a lot of time (and WORK)!  And as she noted, sometimes refusing to half-ass it and allowing time to do its thing hurts like hell...

Music...I don't know what I'd do without music.  Neena and I put on quite a few kms in a week, and normally I do some of my best thinking on our walks.  I've noticed lately the iPod has been coming along more frequently, and after some further pondering, I've decided I just can't stand to hear my own self think anymore lol!  The same friend who gave me the friends/music/time advice also taught me how to pick what I need from a song.  Here are a couple of the songs that are 'getting me through' right now...it seems like the winter blues have been getting more than just me down lately and I hope you pick what you need.
